super delicious and authentic (spicy) thai food from the folks behind cariñito. it’s a standing only food truck, but they do do free rickshaw ride around the roma neighborhood, a fun addition to the delicous food.
When to go? for lunch or an afternoon snack. the environment is a relaxed patio with a handful of seats. an intimate spot for a catch-up with a friend or a casual date.
What to get? you must try one of each of the dumplings (i cannot decide what my favorite is) and some natty wine.
When to go? when you’re craving Mexican-Chinese food. If you’re hungover, with friends late at night, or want a Sunday supper.
What to get? everything, but don’t forget to get the onions or the chile relleno.
When to go? when it’s rainy season in cdmx, you had a rough day at work, or you want a casual lunch/meal. it’s comfort food at its finest.
What to get? the ramen!
When to go? when you’re feeling bougie. it’s a special-occasion kind of spot.
What to get? I’d recommend the shrimp wonton (Rangoon) and the wings.
When to go? for a quick lunch!
What to get? try the Chirasi bowl or anything. it’s all great.
When to go? when you’re feeling fancy and want to be surrounded by beautiful decor. this place has sexy, velvety seating and dim lighting with great food.
What to get? the chili crab. they also specialize in dim sum, and desserts and have a breadth of champagne and super interesting teas.
When to go? you’re on the go! this is a Vietnamese food truck.
What to get? the bahn mi and viet roll.
When to go? when you’re craving both Mexican and Asian food.
What to get? the duck tacos!
When to go? located in a super awesome private home, it’s only open on the weekends and Mondays. go 15 minutes before they open to avoid the queue.
What to get? i would consider this place the world’s best Thai food. the menu rotates every week, so it’s hard to recommend something. that said, if you’re with a group be sure to get the whole fish—it’s a menu staple.
